Nathan Coe has been capturing the beauty of the island of Nantucket for over a decade. Depicted in the misty outline of a wave crashing on the shore, the unique pattern of tire marks left on the sand, and the tangled strands of a woman’s hair blowing in the breeze, Coe’s Nantucket photographs embody his enduring connection to the island.
Coe’s latest 2024-25 Nantucket series introduces an element of whimsy and fun as he captures his female subjects soaking up the sun as they surf, sip martinis, and play on the beach. Conversely, his newest landscapes are vibrant yet calm as they embody the beauty and stillness of the island’s picturesque beaches and bluffs.
